Pioneer AVH 3500nex 2-minute Review
The Pioneer AVH-3500nex is a single din stereo with a motorized 7-inch clear resistive display. The motorized display works well and is very sturdy.
The display itself is lovely to look at (with excellent color and contrast), and it’s also quite responsive to your commands and gestures. If you’ve ever used a smartphone, the chances are good that you’ll be able to use this Pioneer device.
Of course, you won’t just be using this screen to select options. You’ll also be able to view your favorite films, TV shows, and other video material on the go!
When not in use, the top of the Single DIN unit slides out of a concealed cubby to give a clean, minimalist look without sacrificing screen size or performance.
The installation procedure with this wiring harness is almost unbelievably simple. That’s a major benefit for individuals who don’t want to pay someone to do it for them.
There are lots of wires connected to this stereo. You can use the USB input on the back to connect your music.
The connections also have Bluetooth, a microphone on the steering wheel, and power wiring. There are three sets of outputs for speakers for your front and rear speakers, as well as video outputs so you can connect your headrest.
Despite the fact that most new devices are simple to operate, there is an issue with the volume knob.
Because it is hidden behind the display, it’s difficult to come by. There are also a few interesting updates you should be aware of right now.
Pioneer has copied Kenwood and allows you to customize your home screen widgets in terms of size and position, much like Kenwood does.

Key Features – Apple CarPlay And Android Auto
The major selling point of this stereo is that it includes both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which means you can use your smartphone as a touchscreen display. Both of these features are among the most sought-after functions in car stereos nowadays. They aren’t compatible with this head unit because they aren’t wireless.
The reciever also has the ability to connect to amazon Alexa via vos and sys, which is a separate Android app that you must download from the Google Play Store. I have an Alexa speaker at home, so this functionality might be useful to me on occasion.
For music alarms and reminders, I’d still most likely use Spotify or a podcasting software on Apple CarPlay. Somehow, Pioneer is still linked with Weblink. Weblink is a portal that connects to services including YouTube, Yelp Music, Weather Channel, and Zomato. The stereo uses a USB connection to connect to your device, and it isn’t a screen mirror; it works with iOS and Android.
No HDMI Port? Still you can mirror your phone
The AVH 3500nex does not have an HDMI port. But you will be able to show your phone and Android on the touchscreen display using the RCA audio input and a few adapters. You can show any app on the screen using this method. Audio/video bulk transference is still handled at the phone.
Multi-Band Equalizer settings
A 13-band graphic EQ (with seven preset configurations) allows you to experiment with the soundstage and your stock or aftermarket speakers to get even more out of them by manipulating the tone.
The sound is, as expected, excellent. There’s a digital signal processor that can enhance or reduce the volume of a song based on the kind of music being played back. The bass response and overall audio quality are fantastic.
Large number of Formats supported
The radio supports MP3, AAC, WMA, ALC and FLAC audio files as well as video playback MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVIs. You may also upload and view JPEG photos DVDs appear to be of good quality on the screen.
AM and FM Radio
The tuner supports 18 FM stations and 6 AM presets. Bluetooth is required for hands-free calling and music streaming. With music playback, you can get album art as well as a charge to your device via a USB connection in either Spotify Pandora or other iPod sources. USB also offers album artwork and charging for your gadget through an USB connection in either Spotify Pandora
Weblink: Slow and Lags …
My biggest complaint about weblink is that it is very sluggish, but I’ll give them credit for accelerating the new model. I would actually consider using it for YouTube video playback because they speeded up on this new model. I simply don’t get why pioneer invests in a collaboration with weblink when they can’t even put an HD display on the radio.

Compatibility with Android and iOS
The integration with both Apple and Android operating systems is incredibly well done, polished, and slick. The second you connect your phone to this receiver (via USB), it will come alive, essentially turning the receiver into an extension of your device.
Thanks to these features, your iOS device is more useful than ever before. The possibilities are endless with the integration of Apple’s newest iOS 12 updates.
You’ll be asking how cars were ever manufactured without these features built in the first time you try them out for yourself!
Simple and straightforward Installation
The installation was very simple and straightforward. Everything you need is included in the box, and the instructions are very clear. The only thing that might trip you up is the fact that there are two separate power harnesses – one for the head unit itself, and one for the external amplifier. Make sure you connect the right one to the right device, or you’ll be left scratching your head wondering why your head unit isn’t turning on.
Once everything is connected, fire up the head unit and prepare to be blown away by its features and performance. The large, bright touchscreen is very responsive and easy to use. The interface is very user-friendly and intuitive. I was able to pair my iPhone with the head unit without any problems and start streaming music right away.
The sound quality from the built-in amplifier is excellent. It’s plenty powerful enough to fill a large car or SUV with rich, detailed sound. If you’re looking for even more power, the head unit is also compatible with external amplifiers.
Overall, I’m very impressed with the Pioneer AVH 3500NEX head unit. It’s well worth the price, and it’s sure to give you many years of trouble-free use. If you’re in the market for a new head unit, I highly recommend the Pioneer AVH 3500NEX.
